About

I sewed my first pillow at a Brownie meeting in our school's cafeteria when I was in 2nd grade.  It was a lopsided, red heart, but from then on, I was hooked on using a needle and thread.

I clumsily stitched together Barbie attire and Cabbage Patch doll clothes for playtime.  My sister didn't seem to mind the gaping holes and crooked snaps.

I made many a cross-stitched ornament as a kid.  My mom still hangs them on her tree every Christmas.

As an adult I have dabbled in crochet, quilting, needlework, sewing household items, and most recently, clothing.

When my grandmother passed away, she left me her Singer 500A AKA The Rocketeer.  It is an all-metal beast and inspires me to be like she was.  She was incredibly kind and loving and created as a way to show others how much she cared; I hope to do the same.  Sewing is in the genes.

While I have no formal "training" and lack the basic skills, I hope to learn more as I go.  I've never been much of a rule-follower anyway.

All the while, I daydream about a day when I can stay home from my full-time job and create, for it gives me a feeling of inner peace and joy.
